Springfest 2011

May 19, 2011. Aching feet, grumbling stomach, half-delirious imitations of a decapitated millipede on the drama room floor, panic, root beer milkshakes, and an overwhelming sense of accomplishment.
That's the best I can do to sum it up.

SO. A recap of springfest and the stuff I had displayed.

Nicole's jars and my drug drawings.

"Choose Wisely"
Dramatic angle time.

Panel 1.

Panel 2.

Panel 3.

View from the stairwell. Back at like 6ish, when the natural light was streaming in, it was absolutely gorgeous. Too bad I didn't get a picture :(

Prints!

"I'll Assemble All the Sand"

- watercolour

Didactic Panel

"One In a Million"

- ink on illustration board

"Aut Inveniam Viam Aut Faciam/Either I Shall Find a Way or Make One"

"Maori"

The art stairwell that I basically called dibs on.

"Show Them What You're Made Of" (otheriwise known as my never-ending love affair with carbs)

"Performance Piece 2"

All in all, a resounding success of a night :D

I'm gonna miss you, graduating talent of '11

Wheattttttt

So I'm finally getting back into the art groove. Sorta.

Some birthday cards:

And the bane of my existance, a self-portrait in wheat.

Essentially taking this:

And somehow re-creating it in wheat.

Some progress shots:

3 Things

1. Foiled - Blue October

I've realized that if I had to listen to one album for the rest of my life, this would be it. It's been one of my favourites for the better part of 5 years, and it's always been relevant, and it's always been amazing. Pure brilliance.

2. Prom shoes

Yessir, the silver ones on the right are the ones I'm wearing :]
I can't believe I just blogged about shoes.

3. Still Life (FROM HELL)

My god this was the most painful still life I've ever had to draw. HUNDREDS OF PAPERS. ART BOOKS EVERYWHERE. GOD DAMN IT ALL.
Done in about 2 periods on vellum, 3/4 of this stupid drawing ended up on my arm anyways. I kind of like it.

Peace,

~Len

Performance art

Final Performance Art,
Many thanks to Amy Chang, I don't know many people who'd agree to be covered in paint with me.

Tattoo thoughts

I think if I ever end up getting a tattoo, that's what it would be.

I've always had a connection to daisies.
My earliest memory of my grandfather was of him teaching me how to make a daisy wreath. I find half the things I do nowadays relate back to him.
Daisies are the flower equivalent of innocence.
Also, I feel that if I had to show people, brushing my hair off of my neck has some kind of intimacy and vulnerability to it that I find interesting.

Also, I like the way it looks with my profile.

Thoughts?
